Families are people, never publicity props.
We celebrate families with dignity. We will never knowingly use approved images, recordings, stories, or quotes to shame, ridicule, stigmatize, exploit, or portray a family in a negative or misleading light. We do not use media to imply a diagnosis, treatment outcome, endorsement, or experience the participant did not report.
Who this clause covers
When you expressly grant permission on a form that links to this policy, the permission covers the following named Auesomely You sister brands: Auesomely You Cares Inc.; Auesomely You Magazine; Auesomely You Podcast; Auesomely Her Magazine; Auesomely You Sisterhood; Auesomely You Publishing; Auesomely You advocacy services; Young Authors University; and Inspiring Impact Media Group LLC. They may use only the material and attribution you authorize, for the purposes below. This policy on the Cares website does not itself change another brand’s website or enroll you in its services.
Where approved material may appear
Approved photographs, video, audio, written responses, and quotes may be used in our websites, social media platforms, digital or print magazines, podcasts, advocacy and educational materials, program impact reports, and grant applications or reports shared with funders. Public promotional use and private grant reporting are both covered only when you grant the relevant permission. Grant submissions may be retained by the receiving funder. No publication, payment, or selection for a feature is promised.
Your choices are recorded separately
The Adopt a Mom form lets you decline media use, allow photographs only, or allow photographs, video, and audio. A separate choice lets you keep written answers private or authorize quotes without identifying details, with your first name, or with your full name. We honor the more restrictive choice. An anonymous quote will omit identifying details; distinctive stories can still be recognizable to someone who knows you.
Submitting an application, agreeing to newsletters, showing interest in a book, or attending an event does not alone grant publication permission. Declining media or quote permission does not affect sponsorship selection. Event attendance notices do not replace a required individual or guardian permission.
Children and other people
An adult’s permission covers only their own contribution and likeness. Identifiable images, recordings, or stories about a child require separate permission from an authorized parent or guardian, with care for the child’s comfort and assent where possible. Do not submit another person’s private story or identifiable media without authority.
Editing, future books, and partner limits
We may crop, caption, shorten, or lightly edit authorized material for clarity and accessibility without changing its meaning. A future book inquiry is an expression of interest, not a book publishing agreement; we will confirm publication terms separately before including a contribution in that project.
Program partners may receive the limited contact details described in our privacy policy. That does not grant them rights to your likeness, stories, diagnosis documents, or newsletter enrollment. Any additional partner media use requires its own clear permission.
Changing your mind
Email auesomelyyoucares@gmail.com with your name and submission reference to change your choices, ask about a use, or withdraw permission for future use. We will stop new uses after processing the request and work to remove material from channels we control where reasonably possible. Previously printed, distributed, archived, or independently reshared material may not be retrievable. This is not permission to use old material for a new purpose without the necessary consent.
